River Rambles (social paddling for women)

River Rambles are social paddles designed for female social paddlers.  They consist of both general public and inter-club social paddling activities for women of all ages, skill level and boat types. The objective is to provide opportunities to get out on the water in a friendly, social and safe manner and in the company of women lead by qualified female Ramble Leaders.  Registrations are essential.

2020 Calendar

15th March

PLEASE NOTE:  Essendon has been cancelled this weekend, but if you are interested in a social paddle, we will be at Karkarook Lake from 12-2pm.  All equipment still provided.  Please email Sharon for more information

Maribyrnong River Trip – Essendon Canoe Club | $35

Starting at the Essendon Canoe club, we will launch from the boat ramp and head both up and down stream with a few activities thrown in.  With all equipment provided, this is a no fuss, come along and join in session with easy to paddle sit on tops.  If the weather is bit ordinary Paddle Victoria will also provide a good pair of thermals and a spray jacket to keep you warm. We aim to have no swims during the sessions unless you volunteer!

Tea, Coffee and a little snack will be provided afterwards to talk war stories……

Lilydale Lake – Kayak Paddle Ball and Cruise | $35

Lilydale Lake is one of the most picturesque of venues with easy beach access on to the water.  Come along for a paddle around the lake and try your hand at Kayak PaddleBall – a super fun game for all ages.

With all equipment provided, this is a no fuss, come along and join in session with easy to paddle sit on tops – perfect for beginners or those looking for paddling companions. If the weather is bit ordinary Paddle Victoria will also provide a good pair of thermals and a spray jacket to keep you warm. We aim to have no swims during the sessions unless you volunteer!

5th April
Westerfolds Park, Yarra River, Templestowe | $35

Despite Westerfolds Park being home to the local Slalom whitewater training space, Westerfolds park also boasts an accessible slow moving part of the Yarra River as well!  Perfect to practice some paddling skills (home to Paddle Victoria’s basic skills course) this session will introduce you to the picturesque tree lined Yarra. Easy to paddle sit on tops and all the gear provided to ensure you are comfortable and can enjoy being outdoors.

Perfect for beginners and those new to kayaking, tea, coffee and cake will be provided afterwards.
